| Roundtable
assembled a team of talented gardening experts, editors, photo researchers,
designers, illustrators, and horticultural consultants to complete this
stunning addition to Sunset's highly regarded line of regional gardening
titles in under 9 monthsa remarkably tight schedule for such a complex
project. We researched and collected the more than 800 photographs that
appear in the book, calling on the resources of over 30 garden photographers.
We edited more than 2,000 entries for an A to Z plant encyclopedia, all
geared to the requirements of northeastern gardening. New full-color zone
maps were commissioned to illustrate Sunset's esteemed climate zone system
as applied to the Northeast. And our gardening experts reviewed and edited
the entire manuscript to ensure that the NORTHEASTERN GARDEN BOOK is not
only comprehensive, but also contains the newest plants and cutting-edge
techniques and tips. The book's editorial challenges aside, Roundtable delivered
final electronic files directly to Sunset's printer for computer-to-plate
manufacturing, successfully concluding a production challenge that included
the management and/or creation of more than 1,700 pieces of print-ready
high-resolution electronic art.
